Genesis 22:1-12; John 20:24-30
Abraham’s near-sacrifice of Isaac is a dramatic and defining moment for Father and Son, for Israel, for the Church, and us. After this encounter of danger and obedience, Abraham and Isaac will never again speak to each other again. It is on the third day of the journey to the sacrifice of Isaac that Abraham sees the place where his obedience will be tested. We learn it is Abraham’s obedience that saves his son, Isaac, as Christ’s obedience to his Father rescued all of us!
