At the heart of Judaism and Christianity is an act of reconciliation. Each of the readings advocates that forgiveness is both a virtue and a way of life. Paul calls upon the Roman Christians not to judge one another. Matthew records the story of Jesus teaching Peter about forgiving others without measure or limit. The people of God are truly whole, free, and holy when we practice forgiveness with love.
