Pentecost 24

Series: Pentecost

The readings begin to focus our attention on the end of the liturgical year and point us to the final, glorious coming of Christ—whether at the end of time or the end of our lives. Are we ready for the end—of time? Of ourselves? How will we ready ourselves for the coming of Christ? Will we be reliable, dynamic, and enterprising stewards of all that God has given us, or will we be “asleep at the switch?” And will we stop supporting an image of “God as Abuser of the Vulnerable” and begin to see that God desires all to live and eat well.
