The readings encourage us to live by holiness. When we receive the call to holy living, we rely on the Holy Spirit to remind us that our holiness does not derive from within us but from the holiness of God’s love and compassion. Authentic holy living results from fidelity to the double commandment of Jesus: love God and love neighbor.
